Philip Diprose set up the fixed-gear cycling magazine The Ride with his brother Andrew and friend Dean Taylor in order to complement, not compete with, existing cycling publications.

Two Berlin Teams are fighting for honour at  1st Bike Polo Open in Munich. We’ll keep our fingers crossed !

Unintentional however a hospital visit and good excuse for the first aid team on duty to come screetching around the corner. Said to the medic as he stepped out of the vehicle: “No, he’s not dying”.

Originally planned as a two day event, with the injury of a Swiss player in one of the Semi Final games, as well as other main events in the ECMC, the half finals and championships were held on the Monday.

The winner was the Swiss team from Geneva (Team Equip) followed by the strong Munich team (Team Toros) and third was Berlin (Team Berlin 1).

Congratulations to the Swiss team and thank you everyone for coming – there were French dialects, German dialects, Dutch Dialects, English, American and Australian accents. The next big event on the Calender is in London for the Europeans Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships 2009with no less than 9 German Teams competing, 3 from Berlin.

Later in the year, Berlins Halloween Bike Polo Tournament will be big. No details yet (lets have a rest first).
